DUBAIArabian Adventures, the UAE’s leading destination management company (DMC) and part of the Emirates Group, has reported steady summer growth across both desert and city experiences, as travellers combine iconic dune drives with cooler, indoor explorations.

Between June and September, the Dubai-based operator recorded a 4% rise in desert safari bookings, with nine in 10 guests opting for evening departures. Summer city tours increased nearly 10%, largely driven by international visitors, with top attractions including Louvre Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, and Dubai’s At The Top among the most-booked experiences.

Guests are increasingly balancing outdoor adventures with indoor cultural and water-based activities, reflecting a shift towards versatile itineraries during the UAE’s warmer months.

Evening safaris

Evening desert safaris accounted for 90% of summer bookings, as travellers enjoyed sunset drives, traditional dinners, and stargazing experiences. Premium safari packages, including private vehicles, personalised camps, and enhanced dining, have gained traction, appealing to those seeking comfort alongside authentic desert experiences.

Sebastien Doussin, Senior Vice President – Global Travel Services & Destination Management at dnata Travel Group, said, “Whether it’s cooling off at an indoor ski slope, exploring a biodome, or dining under desert stars, the UAE offers variety in a way few destinations can match.”

City experiences

While desert safaris remain the brand’s flagship offering, Arabian Adventures’ city tours have gained popularity among travellers seeking cultural highlights and indoor comfort. Shared tours to Abu Dhabi have grown in demand, with visitors exploring world-class museums, cultural landmarks, and modern attractions in air-conditioned comfort.

The Adventure Pass, which combines a desert safari with other city experiences, saw a 67% year-on-year jump in bookings for June and July. Guests have been pairing desert adventures with water parks, indoor ski slopes, biodomes, and cultural icons, creating varied and engaging summer itineraries.

Awards and recognition

Arabian Adventures’ growth follows its recognition as a TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice winner, placing it in the top 10% of global travel experiences based on guest reviews.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to be recognised by our guests,” said Doussin. “The award reflects our team’s commitment to creating exceptional experiences – whether it’s a premium evening safari, a water-based adventure, or a family’s first time in the dunes.”

As the autumnal equinox on 22 September signals the end of summer, Arabian Adventures is preparing for the cooler months, traditionally the UAE’s busiest season for tourism and outdoor experiences.
